I'm back!!

Well, I've been gone 3 months ... long enough to get me through my first trimester - and thankful to have some energy!!  So, I've picked up some projects that have been untouched for months - (sorry, Mom!)

Here's what I've been working on...
a LARGE star quilt using Whimsy fabric by Fig Tree Quilts. {pattern by Healther Mulder Petersen}  I need to finish the borders & this one is being professionally quilted, so I have more time for some baby items - my friend is due today ... like I said, I'm a little behind!

PT is keeping a close eye on me to make sure I'm working & not sleeping =)
I hope to have some more pictures posted in the NEAR future!

It's turning GREEN! All of my winter decorations came down last weekend {then sat on the kitchen table for a week, since I ran out of tubs} lol... I found this purple & green wreath which I love, but I'm not crazy about the green mugs, so I think those will be coming down tonight.  My mom got me this bunny {center} that sits on a lettuce leaf, so cute!!  The last picture is a curtain I am making for my new office @ work.  We just moved to a new location, so I thought this curtain would go well with all of my Ohio State stuff  --> huge fan!!

Have a good weekend!!

Finally Finished!

Finally finished and added my new bedding...

Next: need to make/find some brown euro shams (I'm thinking this would be a good excuse to buy Heather's new pillow sham book!!) & new red/brown lamp shade.  Also, I've started my next project...

Fabric - Wildflowers by Healther Mulder Peterson for Henry Glass

Fresh Cut

This is my favorite part of quilting! I'm so excited when the actual quilting is finished (especially on this one ~ since this is the largest one I've quilted myself) and you can begin to see the finished product.   For the quilting I did basic stippling on the inside white portion & tried small stripes on the outer border that remind me of a pair of brown & pink pinstripe pants I have.  I like the end result, but it was very time consuming!  I'm looking forward to getting the binding finished because this quilt is the center piece of my bedroom re-decorating project.
Up next --> red & aqua or lime, brown, hot pink? I love interesting color combination's & either would brighten up my spare room.  I'm designing this pattern myself (something I intend to do a lot more of in the near future) & am really excited to get started!

To Sled or Quilt?

I would really like to go sledding today, since Central Ohio has received almost a foot of snow since yesterday afternoon!  However, seeing that my driveway is probably starting to drift & I don't have any good sledding hills close, I decided to stay inside and do the next best thing... sew ;)   I should re-phrase... pin ;)  I was having some trouble finding enough floor space to tape this queen size quilt down, but after some strategic furniture re-arranging... I think I have found enough space.   My goal is to get the entire quilt pinned today & start on the grid quilting... so, I better stop posting & get to work!!

Buggy Barn Quilt

My most recent project is a quilt for my bed, using the "Hearts" pattern by Buggy Barn. I love this pattern mostly because it has kept my interest & I am very close to finishing the project!! (One of my goals in 2010 --> finishing things I start!!) For this quilt, I chose Sandy Gervais's L'Amour for Moda... the multiple fabric colors & patterns definitely contribute to the "crazy" nature of this Buggy Barn quilt.
