L'Amour - Sandy Gervais

Today, I was able to do my first guest blog @ http://craizeecorner.blogspot.com, a special thank you to Sharon for allowing me to post on her monthly series, this month featuring Sandy Gervais.  A few weeks ago, Sharon contacted me after seeing several of my quilts above, using Sandy Gervais fabric posted on flickr.

So head over to Sharon's blog to view my entire post!

Winter has officially arrived!

This is the "winter" table runner from Heather Mulder Petersen's "On the Run" book - I saw a very similar version on her blog a few weeks ago - same Basic Grey fabric, but in the blue palette.  I am very excited to start of 2012 by finishing a project!!

Next up - is another one of Heather's patterns - the cover quilt on her Livin Large 2 book - in Moda's Urban Cowgirl.  I went on a quest for new bedding a few weeks ago - my husband and I ordered our first official bedroom suite - KING SIZED - which should be coming this week!  Anyways - I was very skeptical that I would find something I really liked - but I actually found two different duvet covers that I absolutely love!! I will post some pictures next week - (if the furniture ever arrives!!)

Have a great week!

Future Endeavors.

via stimulated mind.blogspot com - by Ernst & Thistle
I love these! Recycled coffee sack pillows - perfect for my rustic decor & infactuation with coffee.  8)   I've been jumping on the "simplify" band wagon this week - trying to de-clutter my living space - less junk I have, less junk I have to keep organized!  I'm pretty good at purging stuff, so I hope this theory works!!

from Etsy...love!
Have a happy Mother's Day - this is my first one!

Fresh Figs...

I can't wait for this kit to arrive! It has been the inspiration behind my master bedroom re-decorating project.  I am also going to make several quilted Euro shams with the same fabric, possibly a red bed skirt, lots of cream bedding, and some burlap coffee sack accent pillows?!?  Sounds non-traditional, should fit right in!
Also, I'm thinking a re-purposed chair and automan - in red checkered, or all cream? - with a monogrammed pillow.  Hmm, if I could just get all of my ideas accomplished, I'm sure it would look amazing, haha.  One day @ a time!!
Happy Easter!!

More fun to come!

4 1/2 Months

First pair of jeans!  I admit they only lasted long enough for me to take some pictures... they are so much harder to manuever while she's practing rolling over on the changing table!

I have some of this fun coming in the mail this week -Riley Blake's Sugar & Spice.   I plan to make several quilted pillows using Heather Mulder Peterson's Sham's With Style book and eventually a small bed quilt (but that hasn't made the To Do list yet).

Mini Patchfolio ...

This is the Mini Patchfolio... by Craft Apple.  I have had this pattern a long time, and finally had the chance to try it out.  It is a much more stylish way to take notes during meetings @ work.  I used basic fabrics from Joann's, but was going for the Vera Bradley look...  the matching glitter pen and purple legal pad were just an added bonus!!   I'm excited to get something on my completed list!

So, I'm not much for real scrapbooking, but blog scrapbooking - I'm all about!  I am starting to gather some ideas for re-decorating my master bedroom.  In the end, I can only hope it will look something like what you see here...

Fresh Start

Wow, I won't even mention when I started this project, I wouldn't want to embarrass myself!  I'm proud to say it's finally being added to the finished pile for 2011.

===================================

I am excited to explore some new adventures this year, including being a mom (still sounds weird) and developing a decorating style that reflects my personality and inspires me to keep creating.  I think being able to drink coffee again has already helped immensely in making this goal become a reality!

Happy Holidays!

 Merry Christmas!!
and Happy New Year!!

I wish I had some finished projects to share, but I've been busy developing this little miracle for the past 10 months.  So, I guess that makes my New Year's resolution pretty simple - get back to my sewing machine!! (Which means I need to stop surfing quilt blogs like Twin Fibers and Raggedy Owl and produce some inspiration of my own).

I'm back!!

Well, I've been gone 3 months ... long enough to get me through my first trimester - and thankful to have some energy!!  So, I've picked up some projects that have been untouched for months - (sorry, Mom!)

Here's what I've been working on...
a LARGE star quilt using Whimsy fabric by Fig Tree Quilts. {pattern by Healther Mulder Petersen}  I need to finish the borders & this one is being professionally quilted, so I have more time for some baby items - my friend is due today ... like I said, I'm a little behind!

PT is keeping a close eye on me to make sure I'm working & not sleeping =)
I hope to have some more pictures posted in the NEAR future!

DECORATING FOR SPRING!!

It's turning GREEN! All of my winter decorations came down last weekend {then sat on the kitchen table for a week, since I ran out of tubs} lol... I found this purple & green wreath which I love, but I'm not crazy about the green mugs, so I think those will be coming down tonight.  My mom got me this bunny {center} that sits on a lettuce leaf, so cute!!  The last picture is a curtain I am making for my new office @ work.  We just moved to a new location, so I thought this curtain would go well with all of my Ohio State stuff  --> huge fan!!

Have a good weekend!!

Fresh Cut

This is my favorite part of quilting! I'm so excited when the actual quilting is finished (especially on this one ~ since this is the largest one I've quilted myself) and you can begin to see the finished product.   For the quilting I did basic stippling on the inside white portion & tried small stripes on the outer border that remind me of a pair of brown & pink pinstripe pants I have.  I like the end result, but it was very time consuming!  I'm looking forward to getting the binding finished because this quilt is the center piece of my bedroom re-decorating project.
Up next --> red & aqua or lime, brown, hot pink? I love interesting color combination's & either would brighten up my spare room.  I'm designing this pattern myself (something I intend to do a lot more of in the near future) & am really excited to get started!
